I painted these artworks while away from the studio, hanging them on the walls of my bedroom. The State of alarm in Spain has kept the population reclused at home due to the pandemic.

Leaving aside the media (often immersed in sensationalism), my closest and tangible perception of reality was extremely limited. Therefore, each work is an intimate vision that documents, describes and exorcises my own experience of the global virus quarantine. The paintings emphasize the minor daily dramas that are the bone structure that consolidates the great collective tragedy.

"We must learn to live with uncertainty," is what they (the media) repeated while they shared tips for us to avoid going insane. Or worse, getting fat.

While we all learnt to walk the tightrope, I had the absolute certainty that if the world was coming to an end, I would be painting.
